A diuretic-saluretic for prompt relief of edema. Salix (furosemide) -comparable with Lasix- is an effective diuretic possessing a wide therapeutic range. Furosemide promotes the rapid removal of abnormally retained extracellular fluids. and is indicated in dogs and cats for the treatment of edema (pulmonary congestion, excessive abdominal fluid) associated with cardiac insufficiency and acute noninflammatory tissue edema.
